CHAPTER THRITY-TWO!(:
~*~*~*~*~
“Why are you coming with us?” Anastasia asked, looking at Oliver. “Spencer told me to” he said dully, shrugging and pulling a knife like object from his belt. He carved that same ‘eye-like’ symbol on the wall that Anastasia drew when they used a portal to get to Charisma’s the first time. “Sounds good enough to me!” Anastasia smiled. “Lovely” Scarletgroaned, stepping through the portal before she had the feeling as if her body were being pulled apart. She stood in front of the same apartment building she’d stood in front of the other night, and glanced back up at the glowing sign. It was dimmer now, but it still had the same words on it. “Hey, open up!” Anastasia shouted, knocking on the door fiercely. “Ay! Ever heard of a door bell Little Miss Ants in Her Pants?” Charisma rubbed her eyes and glared at Anastasia. “Well yes, but what does that have to do with anything?” Anastasia’s expression went blank. “It doesn’t have anything to do with anything” Scarlet stated. “Oh…” Anastasia’s expression didn’t change. “You’re back, what do you want?” Charisma asked, suddenly dressed in a hott pink mini skirt and black leather jacket. “My ‘reading’ or ‘testing’ thing. You told me to come pack at 4:30, so here I am” Scarlet held up the sticky note Charisma had given her last night. “Alright, whatever” Charisma opened the door and let them in. “Wait. Where’s Oliver?” Scarlet looked around. “Oliver, who? Kennsington? It better not be Kennsington.” Charisma’s glare shifted from Anastasia to Scarlet. “So you’re not happy to see me?” Oliver came striding in with his hands in his pockets. His voice gave Scarlet chills; goose bumps rising on her arms. ‘Do they always do that?’ she thought. “How did you get in here” Charisma growled. “The front door” Oliver shrugged. “I was blocking the front door” Charisma said, half through her teeth. “Do you remember when you flashed to change? I slipped right in,” he smirked. “By the way, I believe these are yours” he held up a pair of underwear in his hand. “Where did you get those?!” she snatched them out of his hand. “The Guest Room” Oliver shrugged, again. “Gross!” Anastasia giggled. “Why are you here?” Charisma continued to glare at Oliver. “Spencer sent me with them” Oliver said dully. “Let’s just get this over with,” Charisma grabbed Scarlet’s hand. “…knock his ass out” she muttered, glaring at the back of Oliver’s head. “Muttering to yourself isn’t going to change the fact that I’m still standing in your living room” Oliver said coolly, plopping down on the couch and putting his feet on the coffee table. “Were you raised in a barn? Get your feet off the table” Scarlet hit his ankles with her hand, and pushed at them. “Maybe I was.” Oliver said stubbornly, but moved his feet anyway. When she turned around, he let out a sigh and put his feet back up. “Get yo’ nasty feet off my damn table!” Charisma yelled, dragging Scarlet into one of the back rooms. +.+ “This isn’t going to hurt, is it?” Scarlet asked timidly. “Maybe” Charisma said, as she grabbed her hand roughly. Heat blazed from Charisma’s hand, burning Scarlet’s. She let out a scream, and tried to pull her hand away. “Stop! Stop!” she cried. Charisma’s hand only tightened, and her free hand grabbed Scarlet’s free wrist, burning it as well. “Ouch! Stop!” Scarlet yelled, trying to get free. “Relax, it’ll be over soon” Charisma said, sounding more annoyed than before. The fire burned, down her hand and her wrist, brighter and brighter with each passing second. Scarlet started to sweat, that burning feeling causing her to cry out every couple minutes. “Please, stop!” she shouted. Charisma’s hands stopped burning, but her eyes glazed over in a deep purple as she stared at Scarlet. Her voice seemed deeper, and rougher as she said, “Looks may be deceiving. Those whom seem to know the least, see the most.” “What does that even mean?!” Scarlet stated. | “You must seek out the Elf City, there you will seek the path to the Siren Queen, Jessamine, and she will tell you your fate.” Charisma’s eyes went back to normal, and she sagged in her chair; seemingly unconscious.
Scarlet got up, the burn marks on her hand and wrist were black, red, and kinda pink; they were starting to bleed. She walked back into the living room to find Anastasia sitting in Oliver’s lap; their lips locked together. Scarlet’s lungs swelled, up and a burning feeling rose in her throat. ‘I was just screaming in pain, and they were just sitting on the couch making out like there was no tomorrow!’ she thought angrily. She stood there, waiting for them to notice her, or at least acknowledge her presence. She felt a sickening feeling move down her stomach as she watched them kiss. “Excuse me!” she half shouted. Anastasia jumped away from Oliver, the top buttons on her blouse unbuttoned, and started to giggle. Oliver sat there, buttoning his shirt back up as if nothing just happened. He shook his head, his hair falling perfectly back into place. His lips were red, but Anastasia’s were brighter. “How long have you been standing there?” Anastasia asked, once she’d finally stopped laughing. “For a good 5 minutes.” Scarlet stated. “Oh my god you’re bleeding!” Anastasia yelled, suddenly more concerned. “C’mon, we have to take you to Mrs. Carson!” Anastasia grabbed Scarlet’s non-bleeding hand and tugged on Oliver’s arm till he got up and drew the teleporting symbol on Charisma’s living room wall. “Mrs. Carson! Mrs. Carson!” Anastasia yelled, running down the hall with Scarlet leaving a trail of blood behind them. “Anastasia, what have I told you about calling me Mrs. Carson?” Spencer’s mom came out of the kitchen wearing an apron and a dress underneath it. She had bits of flour in her hair, and on her face, but she still looked super-model perfect. Her blonde hair was pulled back, and her bright blue eyes bore no makeup, she was naturally stunning. “I’m sorry, but Scarlet got hurt” Anastasia said. “Scarlet got hurt?!” John was suddenly by Mrs. Carson’s side, a worried look on his face. “John, I’m fine—” Scarlet started, putting her hands behind her back. “Let me see.” John said, holding out his hands briskly. “John, I swear I’m fin—” Scarlet murmured. “Let me see. Now.” John was about to forcefully bring her hands forward. Scarlet brought her hands forward, one palm bleeding and one wrist bleeding. John let out a worried sigh. He rubbed his thumb over her bloody palm, and the bleeding stopped; instead a splash of black appeared where the blood was. He kissed her wrist, the blood drying up, and a black vine twisting around her wrist with a small rose at the end placed at the pad of skin on her palm under her thumb. “All better” he whispered, looking up at her. His brown eyes quickly changed from brown to orange to green to purple, then back to brown again. “…John?” she murmured, raising an eyebrow at him. “Hold on, Johnathan, move over please,” Mrs. Carson grabbed Scarlet’s wrist and looked at the mark. “What did Charisma tell you?” “She said that I had to find Jessamine, the Siren Queen or whatever? But she said that I have to go to the Elf City and she gave me this weird quote…” Scarlet said. “What was the quote?” “Looks may be deceiving. Those, whom seem to know the least, see the most.” Scarlet repeated, having committed the quote to memory. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Anastasia asked, looking at the mark on her palm. “You would know if you weren’t just sitting around making out with Oliver.” Scarlet said bitterly. “Ooh, somebody’s jealous” Ivana laughed, giving Scarlet the evil-eye. “I’m not jealous,” Scarlet grumbled. “I was sitting there bleeding and they didn’t even try to help me!” “Anastasia, is that so?” Mrs. Carson asked. “Yes ma’am” she murmured. “You know the rules Anastasia,” she took a deep breath. “Ekeinoi pou gennithikan gia tin katapolemisi tou koinou den borei na einai mazi” “Yes ma’am” Anastasia said, running her fingers through her red hair. ‘Did I just get her in trouble? …I’m such a terrible person’ Scarlet thought glumly. ‘You didn’t get me in trouble Scarlet, I already knew the law. Mrs. Carson was just reminding me of where my boundaries lie.’ Anastasia’s voice rang in her head. “ “It won’t happen again, Anastasia?” Mrs. Carson asked. “No ma’am, it won’t happen again” Anastasia said, then turned to smile at Scarlet. “Scarlet, would you come here for a second?” Spencer asked, standing at the kitchen door. “Yeah, uh, sure Spencer” Scarlet walked over to him slowly. “We’ll go to the library,” he took her hand, and started pulling her forward. “So we can be alone” |
